This is the most granular category list of any filter we offer, and the image filter below can be set differently for each one.

Image filtering

This filter offers two different ways to handle images. You choose which one fits your home, and it can be set differently for each website category. It applies to images only, not videos.

Image Blocker: covers the whole image

When an image falls into a level you've chosen, the entire image is fully covered. Other images on the page still show normally. You pick one of four levels, from the most limited to the most protective:

  1. Block explicit images
  2. Block images of swimwear and intimate apparel
  3. Block images of low-cut clothing
  4. Block all images of women
Covered images are fully hidden behind a solid panel. The rest of the page shows as normal.

Skin Blocker: covers only skin

Instead of hiding the whole image, this mode covers just the skin areas and leaves the rest of the picture, like clothing and background, visible. This keeps more of the page usable while still providing protection.

Skin is masked over, while clothing and the rest of the image still show.

Text filter

Beyond images, this filter also watches text. It uses a built-in list of trigger words, such as foul language and other inappropriate terms, and blocks the content when one of those words is used. The list is maintained by the filter and is not something you set up or add to yourself.

YouTube

Set an overall approach, then layer on any additional protections you want.

Overall approach

Choose one: filter YouTube by category (Education, How To, Sports, Gaming, News and Politics, People and Blogs, Music, Entertainment, Movies), block YouTube but allow single videos on request, or block all of YouTube.

Content protections

Block mature content (romantic themes, extreme violence, swearing), and block questionable keywords (celebrities, swimwear, intimate apparel).

Extras

Block Shorts, and use a clean homepage with no suggested videos.

Pricing

Good to know. On Android, individual apps can't be filtered, so use the website version in Chrome where possible.
